SUMMARY:GNDC Business Impacts Webinar Series: Health Care Study
DESCRIPTION:Join Insurance Commissioner Jon Godfread for a discussion on the Health Care Study with additional perspective and insight from CHI St. Alexius CEO\, Kurt Schley.\nDuring the 66th Legislative Session\, the North Dakota Insurance Department was tasked with assisting Legislative Management in conducting an interim study of health insurance premium trends. The study is unique because the legislature foresaw the need to look beyond insurance carriers and authorized the collection of data from the state's hospitals. This study provides an opportunity to guide a discussion on health care delivery and health care insurance coverage in our state.\n\n \n\nDuring this webinar\, Commissioner Godfread will talk about details of the study including potential policy options and legislation. Schley will provide comments and share from the hospital's viewpoint.\n\n \n\n \nFOLLOW ALONG WITH JENNIFER HAMMER'S COMMENTARY HERE\n\nReview the Final Health Care Study \n\n\n"The report is an account of driving factors in the expense of healthcare and how that may impact the premiums consumers pay. The data\, analysis\, and recommendations will be vital as the state policymakers consider policies aimed at ensuring that North Dakotans are receiving quality healthcare at a fair and reasonable price\," stated Comm. Godfread. "I am proud of the work that was completed\, the accuracy of the data\, and the in-depth policy options provided. This is just the beginning of the discussion and I look forward to continuing to work together with the stakeholders of this report as well as legislative leaders to benefit all North Dakotans."\n\n\n\nTo receive call-in information\, attendees will need to register in advance. Recordings will be made available to attendees following the event.\n\n\n\nThis is part of our Business Impact Webinar Series - held the second Tuesdays in the months of January - June.
