SUMMARY:Government Affairs Committee Meeting
DESCRIPTION:June Primary Election Ballot Review:\n\nWhen the call goes out to citizens to exercise their right to vote\, and make the people's voice heard\, business issues should be top of mind. Every voter is tied to business\, whether they are currently employed or not\, and since small business comprises well over half of the U.S. economy\, creating an environment that is friendly and conducive to business growth is essential.\n\n \n\nIf you ever worked in your life\, you should feel a sense of responsibility to create an environment in the community where you and/or others can have safe\, healthy\, productive employment that affords for your/their children and future.\n\n \n\nVoting on Election Day is important\, but what is more important is being educated when you vote. Attend events with the candidates\, listen and ask questions about the referendums and amendments. All across the state there are ample opportunities up and down to get the information you need.\n\n \n\nDon't forget the primary election on June 14th. Many races will be decided in this election\, and it is just as important as the general election in November. One statewide measure is on the ballot and countless local elections and local issues are up for debate. The GNDC has provided a comprehensive statewide overview of whom and what will be on the ballot this June. We also encourage you to engage in the local issues debates going on in your community. Local elections\, state wide elections and national elections all have consequences\, make sure your voice is heard.\n\n \n\nAgenda:\n\n1:30 p.m. Introductions\n\n\n	Bernie Dardis\, Policy Vice Chair\, GNDC\n\n \n\n1:35 p.m. Ballot overview\, process and procedure\n\n\n	Jon Godfread\, GNDC\n\n \n\n1:50 p.m. Measure #1 Review \n\n\n	1:50 2:05 Kayla Paulvermacher\, North Dakota Farmers Union\, North Dakotans for Family Farms\n	2:05 2:20 Tamra Heins\, North Dakota Pork Council\, Yes for Dairies\n\n \n\n2:20 p.m. Open Discussion Your chance to ask your questions about specific topics \n\n\n	Bernie Dardis\, Policy Vice Chair\, GNDC\n\n2:30 p.m. Adjourn\n\n\n\nNext meeting June 9th\, 2016 @ 1:30pm\n\n Healthcare Update Including Medicaid Expansion
