Under his leadership\, the department has restructured to better use taxpayer dollars and staff expertise. Nationally\, he's recognized for his leadership in insurance innovation and was elected 2025 president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC). Previously\, he was Vice President of Governmental Affairs at the Greater North Dakota Chamber\, working on major state policy issues including healthcare\, taxes\, and education. Godfread holds a JD and MBA from the University of North Dakota and lives in Bismarck with his wife and three children.\n\nSERIES CONTEXT\n\nThis event is part of GNDC's Policy Development Process as we prepare for the 2027 Legislative Session. Input from these discussions will help guide GNDC's Member Councils and overall policy positions.
