  • Best Practices for Working with Lenders on COVID-19 Loans

With the passage of the CARES Act, employers need to work with their local financial institutions to apply for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL). Advice given by both the US Chamber and the SBA is that businesses need to contact and work directly with their local lenders, to access funds and also be aware of what's available. To prepare businesses, GNDC is partnering with the Independent Community Banks of North Dakota (ICBND) to provide information on how to work with your local lender and what information to prep, access, and have readily available.

There are many fiscal strategies for businesses but it can be confusing where to start. In this interactive webinar, ICBND President Barry Haugen will walk through the steps businesses need to take when working with their local lenders to apply for PPP and EIDL assistance.

Besides providing an interactive experience, the goal of this webinar is to better inform participants to maximize potential options related to fiscal strain as a result of COVID-19.

Barry Haugen has been President of the Independent Community Banks of North Dakota (ICBND) since November of 2014, advocating for community banks in our state. Before ICBND, Haugen spent nearly 20 years with MDU Resources Group, Inc. and its subsidiaries in varying roles of increasing responsibility, including several years as executive vice president and chief operating officer of WBI Energy Services, the organization?s pipeline, and energy services subsidiary. Prior to that, Haugen was a community banker in the Bismarck/Mandan area.
