About the Presenters:
Patrick Bertagnolli is the Rough Rider Center & Community Enhancement Director. He holds senior-level certification with the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). Prior to working in the energy sector, Pat spent 22 years with UPS—serving in multiple capacities, including multi-state Operations Manager, and Workforce Planning and Employee Relations Manager. Comprehensive and creative in his approach to HR, Pat is a strong advocate for North Dakota and the opportunities available to people of all ages. He believes that North Dakota is at its best when people and organizations focus on mentoring and giving back--which in turn, creates a great experience for our workforce and their families; and a cultural dynamic that is the most effective way to draw new workers to our state. Pat is currently serving his second term as a member of the North Dakota Workforce Development Council and is a member of the Governor’s Complete Count Task Force (Census 2020).
Katie Ralston joined the Department of Commerce in October 2019 and serves as the Manager of Workforce Projects and Programs. In her role, Katie’s primary focus is fostering collaboration across industry and education to implement initiatives that will address the workforce needs of our state. In her previous position with the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce, Katie played a leadership role in the development of Fueling Our Future, an initiative designed to address the Red River Valley workforce and economic development needs.
Heather Ostrowski is an Organizational Development Specialist for Gate City Bank. She brings over 20 years of experience in management, sales, speaking, writing and team/personal/professional development. She is a joyful connector of people to other people or resources they may need. She serves as a public speaker on a variety of topics to diverse audiences. Her Generation Z talk has been delivered to audiences including MState faculty, National Air Guard, FMWF Chamber Learning Lunch, HR SHRM Conferences, Fargo Moorhead Human Resource Association and City of Fargo employees.
