ND Commerce Economic Resiliency Grant Business Briefing, hosted by GNDC

The North Dakota Department of Commerce will be leading a Special Business Briefing call Thursday, July 9 at 11 a.m. (CST) to introduce the new Economic Resiliency Grant (ERG) available for North Dakota businesses. The grant will provide funding to businesses allowing them to make investments in the facility, business systems, equipment or supplies to reduce the spread of infection in order to inspire customer confidence to return to the marketplace. Topics will include who is eligible to apply, eligible uses for the grant and how the application process will work.

Commerce announced that the agency developed the Economic Resiliency Grant, approved at the June 25 Budget Section hearing, to assist businesses with COVID-19 response and recovery efforts. The $66.4 million in grant dollars are geared to enhance revenue in both the immediate and long-term future by growing consumer confidence. To achieve this, applicants may qualify to receive grant funding of up to $50,000 for investments that will encourage customers to get back into the marketplace by ensuring businesses are equipped to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

Importantly, the ERG is a grant – not a loan. The expenses allowed for through the ERG did not previously qualify under both the Economic Injury Disaster Loan and the Paycheck Protection Program.

The ERG application process is anticipated to open July 31. Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
