• GNDC Honors Legislators and Business Leader with Awards at Policy Summit

The Greater North Dakota Chamber (GNDC) recognized outstanding contributions to the state’s business community during its annual Policy Summit on September 23 in Bismarck, presenting three prestigious awards that celebrate leadership, vision, and impact.

FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR – REPRESENTATIVE TY DRESSLER
Each legislative session brings new faces and fresh perspectives to the Capitol. The Freshman of the Year Award honors a legislator who embraces the challenges of their first session with openness, collaboration, and a commitment to business-friendly policies. GNDC proudly named Representative Ty Dressler as the 2025 recipient, recognizing his willingness to learn, his constructive engagement, and his focus on ensuring policy solutions work for both business and government.

LEGISLATIVE VISION AWARD – SENATOR KRISTIN ROERS
The Legislative Vision Award recognizes a leader who steps boldly into tough conversations and works to shape the future of North Dakota. Dormant since 1999, GNDC reintroduced the award this year to honor Senator Kristin Roers, whose leadership during the 69th Legislative Assembly was critical in defending free enterprise and advancing pro-growth policies. Senator Roers earned the solo 100% GNDC Chamber Champion score, standing firm on issues of regulatory responsibility and economic expansion.

ND LEGISLATOR’S CHOICE BUSINESS AWARD – FIX IT FORWARD AUTO CARE
For the first time, GNDC presented the North Dakota Legislator’s Choice Business Award, honoring a business nominated by legislators for its growth, innovation, and community impact. This year’s award, nominated by Representative TJ Brown, was presented to Fix It Forward Auto Care. Under the leadership of Matt Carlson, Fix It Forward Auto has combined business success with a strong commitment to employees and service to the community, creating a lasting impact on both the local economy and North Dakota’s future.

“These honorees reflect the best of North Dakota’s business community and leadership. Whether it’s through public service at the Capitol or through innovation and impact in the private sector, their work strengthens our state,” said Arik Spencer, GNDC President & CEO.  “We’re proud to partner with leaders like these who are committed to building a stronger North Dakota.”
