• GNDC Launches Legislative Scorecard, Name 83 Chamber Champions

The Greater North Dakota Chamber (GNDC) today launched the GNDC Legislative Report - How They Voted. This scorecard, initially presented exclusively to GNDC membership, reviews the voting record of legislators from the 68th Legislative Assembly on business-related legislation.

GNDC President and CEO, Arik Spencer stated, “GNDC has been publishing a scorecard for decades holding legislators accountable by scrutinizing their voting performance. That is the truest definition of just where they stand. Legislators have a powerful position, they set our business climate through the laws and regulations they pass. These policies send a message  about whether North Dakota is really open for business, or not.”

The 2023 Legislative Report examines action on 30 bills that specifically relate to GNDC’s three priorities - business climate protection or advancement, workforce solutions, and smart infrastructure investments. Lawmakers who earned an index score of 85% or greater, demonstrating strong alignment with the business community, are given the distinction of Chamber Champion.

Spencer continued, “GNDC thanks 68th Legislative Assembly’s Chamber Champions, who are vital in keeping North Dakota a preferred place for business leaders to invest and innovate, creating opportunities and prosperity for North Dakotans.”
