Greater North Dakota Chamber Applauds Specific Election Outcomes
November 12, 2024[Bismarck] – The Greater North Dakota Chamber (GNDC) celebrates the successful election outcomes, with North Dakota voters choosing experienced leaders who are prepared to tackle the state’s most pressing issues and foster growth. This election saw a significant return of Chamber Champions, including 26 senators and 49 representatives who have a proven track record of supporting policies that help North Dakota’s businesses thrive.
GNDC's Chamber Champion designation honors legislators who earned an index score of 85% or higher, underscoring their deep understanding of the issues facing local businesses. With 75 Chamber Champions set to re-enter the legislature, GNDC is optimistic about continuing to work closely with these pro-business leaders to find meaningful solutions that benefit both businesses and communities across North Dakota.
The election results also delivered a bipartisan consensus to retain a balanced approach to essential tax policies, as voters decisively rejected Measure 4. This outcome preserves essential public funding while enabling continued work toward sustainable, effective tax relief that strengthens North Dakota’s competitive edge.
“We are energized by the results and look forward to collaborating with our legislative partners on both sides of the aisle to advance pro-business initiatives,” said GNDC President & CEO, Arik Spencer. “The return of so many Chamber Champions reflects statewide support to sound policy and practical solutions for businesses of all sizes. With this momentum, we are ready to help North Dakota to plan for economic growth.”
Additionally, GNDC is particularly excited to work with Congressman/Governor-Elect Kelly Armstrong, who also holds the Chamber Champion distinction from his time as a senator. His previous votes in support of pro-business policy have earned him the trust of North Dakota’s business community, and his leadership as governor will further strengthen North Dakota’s economic outlook. GNDC is confident that his deep understanding of business issues will continue to drive positive change for the state.
With the 2025 legislative session approaching, GNDC encourages its members to remain engaged in the policy process. A supportive legislative body provides a powerful platform to champion long-term infrastructure investments, innovative workforce solutions, and continued growth for all North Dakotans.-
