Supporting the JETx Project: Strengthening North Dakota’s Energy Future

As President & CEO of the Greater North Dakota Chamber (GNDC), and on behalf of our Board of Directors, we are proud to support the Jamestown to Ellendale 345 kV transmission line, also known as the JETx project. This critical infrastructure investment will strengthen North Dakota’s leadership in energy production and ensure reliable power for businesses, farms, and families.
 
North Dakota is a leader in energy, and the nation depends on us for consistency. Transporting our energy efficiently is essential. The JETx project will reinforce our transmission network, reducing constraints and increasing reliability, particularly in extreme weather conditions.
 
The economic impact is undeniable. Otter Tail Power and Montana-Dakota Utilities estimate JETx will provide over $10 million to landowners, more than $200,000 in sales tax revenue for Ellendale, and over $20 million in state sales tax revenue. This project will drive job creation, business expansion, and financial stability for our communities.
 
At GNDC, we take pride in North Dakota’s resources and believe in investing in responsible energy solutions. JETx ensures future generations inherit a strong, resilient power infrastructure that supports economic growth.
 
We urge policymakers and stakeholders to rally behind this essential project. North Dakota must continue leading in energy production and infrastructure development—our future depends on it.
