PRESENTER BIO
JON GODFREAD-has served as North Dakota’s Insurance Commissioner since 2016, focusing on consumer protection, efficient government operations, and modernizing insurance regulation. Under his leadership, the department has restructured to better use taxpayer dollars and staff expertise. Nationally, he’s recognized for his leadership in insurance innovation and was elected 2025 president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC). Previously, he was Vice President of Governmental Affairs at the Greater North Dakota Chamber, working on major state policy issues including healthcare, taxes, and education. Godfread holds a JD and MBA from the University of North Dakota and lives in Bismarck with his wife and three children.
